Tiffany Fleetwood-Bird

Bio

Tiffany has been teaching for the past 22 years & brings her passion & enthusiasm for yoga to all her classes.

Undertaking a nine month full time teacher training course in Byron Bay she met her main teacher Matthew Sweeney & has continued to study with him since then. She completed an apprenticeship under him & is currently one of his senior Vinyasa Krama Teachers. She visits him yearly to deepen her own practice & teaching skills & values his ongoing mentorship.

Originating from the UK Tiffany discovered Yoga whilst travelling in Nepal, attending a week course in an Ashram just outside Katmandu. Her introduction to yoga included all aspects & she began a daily practice right from the start.

She spent time in the earlier years studying both Satyananda & Iyengar Yoga but found her true home in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. In the past few years her practice & teaching have evolved more towards the Vinyasa Krama Sequences designed by Matthew Sweeney.

These more inclusive & holistic sequences work well with lifestyle & environment in Nelson. Tiffany has lived here with her partner & two boys for the past seven years & teaches regular weekly Led Classes & Assisted Self Practice classes.

Lion Cub Sequence stabilizes the hips and shoulders, strengthens the side body, and allows for great variation with asymmetrical alignment. This sequence uses props as a foundation & is accessible to all. It is a steady vinyasa style practice working on strength & stability. The Moon Sequence is a gentle flowing form that combines yin yoga with vinyasa. Helping practitioners to balance all aspects of Yoga by applying some key universal principles: here and now awareness, letting go, balancing yin and yang, meditation. A nurturing practice working mainly on the hips & lower back leaving you feeling open & grounded. Everyone welcome.
